Meant 4 More was founded in 2009 by four people. Primo Martinez - a youth minister at a church who wanted to remind the youth that everyone has a purpose in life and that all are meant for more - met graphic designer Kimberly Espression who helped create a shirt that would eventually become the logo for the future apparel company. The original purpose of the shirt was to raise money for pizza for his youth ministry events. Surprisingly, the shirt was not only purchased by members of the church but also people of various faiths and beliefs.
Primo became aware that the words "Meant 4 More" resonated with many people from all walks of life and all ages - those who were inspired, empowered and hungry to hear these words. He then started Meant 4 More Apparel with Andrew Bramley, a friend met during his employment with Peet's Coffee. Needing additional funds to print the first batch of shirts Primo asked one of his best friends Maria Lovos to invest in the company as well. Since then many great people have contributed in some way, shape or form to grow this company. After taking a few years off, the company relaunched on November 12th, 2015 with its new CEO Kimberly Stroberg and Chief Graphic Designer Anna Magruder.
All members of the Meant 4 More Apparel team are passionate about making an impact in the lives of others.
Primo has been a volunteer for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) since 2012 and in 2015 the Meant 4 More Apparel team participated in their 1st AFSP Community Walk in San Jose, CA to help raise funds and awareness; 10% of our profits will be donated to the AFSP as well as other organizations that help make an impact in the lives of others.
Our Mission is to spread the empowering message that all are "Meant 4 More" and while we are starting off using apparel to help us spread that message, our goal is to one day use film to bring stories of those who have overcome incredible odds so that others may be inspired by their actions. Below is our 2013 video that received the Vimeo Staff Pick award. With your help we hope that we can promote this message to remind ourselves and also those around us that we are all Meant 4 More.
